The other day, I wrote about the flashlight stun gun from ZAP. Today, I’m going to tell a little about the ZAP Stun Baton. This is one of our website’s top sellers.
Many people like a stun baton due to its size. They figure it is a little more menacing looking and will hopefully prevent an attack, rather than just defend someone who is already being attacked. So, this is one obvious advantage. But, also, they are easy to swing at an attacker and make contact, rather than a smaller hand-held stun gun. But, I think at this point, that just comes down to personal preference.
Now, the ZAP Stun Baton generates 1 million volts of power. And, as we always say here, its not the voltage that stops someone, its the amperage. But, voltage is what determines how thick of clothing the stun can penetrate. And, this level of voltage will typically penetrate through a shirt or light jacket and will very easily work on bare skin as well as dog fur, if someone is using it to ward off an attacking dog.
The amperage of this unit is pretty typical in the 3 milliamp range and this is effective in dropping an average person after about 3-4 seconds of direct contact. Not the quickest on the market, but still pretty typical in the world of stun guns.
The baton also has a built in LED flashlight, which is kinda nice, should you need one. It has a rechargeable, built in battery and comes with a holster. And, it has electrodes not only on the rod portion of the baton, but also around the grip, making it easier for the user to make contact of the stun electrodes to the attacker.
I think its pretty easy to see why this has always been one of our best sellers!
