We’ve been waiting for this stun gun for quite some time. And, yes, we’ve been a little let down by it not being released when the manufacturer said it would be. But, although I’ve not held one in my hands, I know its going to be worth the wait. What’s more is that I do believe PHAZZER is very near to releasing it.
You see, the PHAZZER Hornet is not your ordinary stun gun. The Hornet is, like the Dragon and Enforcer, a Projectile Shooting Stun Gun. Like the TASER Brand of products, these self defense weapons actually shoot electrodes up to 15 feet outwards to an attacker, thus giving the user a safe distance within which to stay. While other models of stun guns require the user to be within inches of an attacker and to “directly contact” an attacker with the weapon, the PHAZZER Hornet, Dragon and Enforcer all provide the safe distance aspect of weaponry.
Now, we do acknowledge that Phazzer has been working for a couple of years to bring this great product to market. But, we do know that they have been actively testing the unit and making minor modifications so that it is safe AND effective. It will prove to be worth the wait. What’s even nicer, yet, is that its price point will be way below that of the Dragon and the TASER C2. It looks like its going to hit the market somewhere near the $250 price point, which is roughly a hundred bucks less than the other two models.
Keep your eyes posted here as you can bet we’ll be telling all about it once its finally release.
Many people search for some type of stun gun or weapon they can use but don’t really give much thought to where they’ll store it or how they’ll carry it. So, let me suggest Stun Gun Knuckles (also called ZAP Knuckles Blaster) for those seeking stun gun protection while exercising or jogging.
Stun Gun knuckles are very convenient to carry. And, that’s one of the biggest problems when it comes to needing your self defense weapon. You have it in your purse or your car, but when you’re jumped, you cannot access it quickly enough. But, these knuckles fit comfortably into the palm of a clenched hand, as when someone is running or jogging. If someone nearby is ready to attack you, you’ll have your weapon in your hand, ready to defend yourself.
At just under 1 million volts, this model has enough voltage (or push) to deliver a nice stun through a small layer of clothing such as a T-shirt or something similar. So, contact with the skin is not fully necessary, although, is always best. Check out the Knuckle Blaster by ZAP and decide for yourself. Even if this is not quite right for you, please DO give some thought as to how you will carry and access your weapon if and when you need it.
That’s the headline and here’s the story about the Mom in Texas who is being charged for using a TASER Gun on her son. She says its just a form of punishment. Hell yeah, its punishment!
PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) – A mother has been charged with injury to a child after Pflugerville police said she used a stun gun on her 14-year-old son as a form of punishment.
Police received the report from Child Protective Services after a teacher reached out to tell them about the suspected abuse.
According to the arrest warrant, a 4-year-old sibling of the teen told a teacher that the brother had been “Tased” four times — including once in the head — by his mother while the father held him down.
Police said while interviewing the teen, they noticed bruising and burning consistent with marks caused by stun guns. The injuries were to the teen’s arms and back.
The mother told police she had threatened her son with the stun gun because “he is a handful” and because “I don’t even know where my child is half the time.”
What such a loving mother this poor child has! She’s blaming the child, but we can all surmise it all started with poor parenting.

I just went through SmartStun.com and got familiar with all the stun guns they have listed on their site. And, I have to say, there is quite a range of models and features and prices. For instance, I saw the Stun Master Lipstick Stun gun for only $29.95 and that included Shipping. And, the most expensive one I saw was the Yellow Jacket by ZAP. This is a smartphone cover that slips over an iPhone to add a stun gun and additional battery storage. I thought that was pretty cool. And, it was $134.95, which also included the same FREE Shipping.
Of course, there are TASER Guns and other weapons on the website that are more expensive. But, for stun guns, they seemed to have quite a range of handheld units, stun batons, even a stun cane. Seems like whatever you might be needing for your self defense, they most likely have and at pretty decent prices. I did look at a few websites and for the most part, the pricing was all comparable. But, throw in the Free Shipping like SmartStun.com does and it just seemed to have the best selection at the best prices.
I’m a dog lover and I hate to think that anyone would intentionally hurt a dog with a stun gun. But, I also know, first hand, that there are times when we’re out walking, either ourselves or our dogs, that other dogs charge us and attack us. I’ve had my dog mauled while on the end of a leash I was holding. It was horrifying. I understand the situation.
So, with all that being said, recognizing there are times when we must protect ourselves or our animals, having a stun gun on hand for this is a smart move. So, which kind of stun gun is good for this? Personally, I prefer a stun baton or a stun cane for this situation, because they give “reach” in case an actual attack occurs. You don’t have to put your hand into the middle of the fight in order to stop a dog.
But, first, let’s recognize that dogs are animals. And, as such, they sense the electrical charge of a stun gun much better than humans. So, its been my experience that a simple test fire into the air of most any stun gun, prior to them engaging in actual attack onto me or my dog, is enough to get their attention and stop them. They sense the current and they back off. So, with this, really, having any stun gun that gives off a very strong electrical charge is appropriate for stopping an attack before it starts. But, again, if that doesn’t stop it, I recommend a stun baton, which are generally about 15 inches in length or a stun cane, which are generally 32-36 inches in length, so you can reach into the fight, without putting your hand or arm in harm’s way.
Okay, so we’re generally about stun guns and taser guns, but the reality is that we’re about many forms of self defense weapons. And, pepper guns, like the Kimber Pepper Blaster 2 certainly deserves some attention.
What you’ll first notice about the Kimber Pepper Blaster 2 is that its not just your traditional pepper spray. Its in the form of a handgun which makes it simpler and easier to use. Point and pull the trigger. Secondly, if you’ve shopped for any pepper guns, you’ll notice the price. At about half the cost of a MACE Pistol and a couple hundred dollars less than a JPX Jet Protector, the Kimber unit is quite affordable. But, its still very effective.
The unit shoots at speeds of up to 100mph which helps to lessen the effective of any cross wind. Its just more “dead shot on” than a pepper spray canister. And, it shoots up to 13 feet, which is typically a few feet further than most small pepper spray dispensers. Its loaded with 2 shots. It has available holsters for keeping it nearby and the pepper formula is pretty dang hot! Its rated to be effective for approximately 45 minutes.
If you’re wanting an affordable, but effective means of self defense, the Kimber Pepper Blaster 2 should definitely be on your list to check out.
We got a lot of people asking about the Phazzer Dragon . They’re familiar with the TASER C2, but have not hear of the Dragon. So, here’s a little info about it.
First, Phazzer is a company who has set out to take on the big boys. In addition to making some truly high quality direct contact stun guns, they also make (currently) 2 models of projectile shooting stun guns (similar to TASER which shoots out the electrodes). They make the Phazzer Enforcer and the Dragon. The Enforcer is the top of the line model which rivals the Taser X26C. But, the Dragon is designed to rival the C2.
The Dragon has a similar ergonomic shape to the C2. It fits very nicely into small, as well as large hands. It also has a laser like the TASER model, but has a super bright LED light as well. Now, here’s where the Dragon gets a little different. Presumably, you’ll be using the cartridges made by Phazzer in the unit. Phazzer claims they have a unique coiling system of the wires/electrodes that are all wound up inside the cartridges. Because of this unique way of coiling, they say that the wires get tangled far fewer times than those of the TASER cartridges. This is important because if the wires get tangled, they probably won’t shoot the full 15′ and are much less likely to hit the target. As such, Phazzer claims a higher “effectiveness” rating for their cartridges.
Like the C2, the Phazzer Dragon can also be used as a direct contact stun gun after firing a cartridge should someone need a quick second application of protection (stun). The Dragon also has, which the C2 does not, a safety disable pin. By having this around your wrist, if someone should grab the dragon from your hand, the pin dislodges and the unit becomes useless. This way, an attacker cannot use the stun gun on you.
