The PHAZZER Hornet

Phazzer HornetWe’ve been waiting for this stun gun for quite some time.  And, yes, we’ve been a little let down by it not being released when the manufacturer said it would be.  But, although I’ve not held one in my hands, I know its going to be worth the wait.  What’s more is that I do believe PHAZZER is very near to releasing it.

You see, the PHAZZER Hornet is not your ordinary stun gun.  The Hornet is, like the Dragon and Enforcer, a Projectile Shooting Stun Gun.  Like the TASER Brand of products, these self defense weapons actually shoot electrodes up to 15 feet outwards to an attacker, thus giving the user a safe distance within which to stay.  While other models of stun guns require the user to be within inches of an attacker and to “directly contact” an attacker with the weapon, the PHAZZER Hornet, Dragon and Enforcer all provide the safe distance aspect of weaponry.

Now, we do acknowledge that Phazzer has been working for a couple of years to bring this great product to market.  But, we do know that they have been actively testing the unit and making minor modifications so that it is safe AND effective.  It will prove to be worth the wait.  What’s even nicer, yet, is that its price point will be way below that of the Dragon and the TASER C2.  It looks like its going to hit the market somewhere near the $250 price point, which is roughly a hundred bucks less than the other two models.

Keep your eyes posted here as you can bet we’ll be telling all about it once its finally release.

Phazzer Dragon -vs- TASER C2

Phazzer has done an admiral job of taking on one of the titans in the self defense weapons industry.  The TASER C2 has been around for a while now and the TASER brand is widely recognized as being a leader in the field.  But, Phazzer, with their Dragon model stun gun is gaining traction in the US.

Phazzer DragonThe Phazzer Dragon is very similar to the TASER C2 in design and functionality.  It is shaped almost identical and the technical specs are also very similar.  A couple of key differences, though, actually slide the scale to the favor of Phazzer as possibly being the better weapon.

First, Phazzer has a unique coiling system for the wires inside their cartridges.  And, because of this, Phazzer claims their wires have less tangling upon deployment and therefore, offer a higher effectiveness rating.  All this means that when you shoot the electrodes, they don’t get tangled and they hit the person much more often than the TASER brand of cartridges.

Secondly, the batteries used by the Dragon have a much longer life expectancy than the TASER brand.  Phazzer claims that their unit will last for hundreds of firings, while their competitor’s batteries will only last for 50 or so.  And, since they’re not cheap to replace, this truly is quite impactful to the owner.

Check them both out and make your own decision.  But, please know that Phazzer is truly coming into center stage with the Dragon, the Enforcer, and the soon to be released Hornet.
